Day No-More
| Have you guys heard or Day No-More? On Day No-More, you’d have no more worries. On Day No-More you’d have no more notes, no more tutorials, assignments and exams. You wouldn’t have to care about not waking up in time for the bus, ironing your uniform, and setting the alarm clock. Heck, you can even stop over the Nokia Care centre to remove the alarm function from your phone forever and ever and ever ‘till the next 6 months or so. (So much for forever and ever……). It’s also a day for celebration. Cheap $1.10 party-packs will be swept off Coronation Plaza’s shelves before you can even say PO* PO* PO* on Day No-More. Conical hats will be worn with all the splendor and glam of a Saturday night ball. Without having to calculate it’s volume or perimeter or area, that’s just absolutely marvelous. The poppers will be popped till the wee hours of the morning. Empty wine bottles will be found all over the place. Multiplayer games will attract weird characters into the study room. Movies will be watched, talked about and rated. Music players will be blasting throughout the night. No more pressure, no more stress, no more moody mornings or grumpy nights. Everyone will be smiling from ear to ear. Hell, even ears will be pierced! Both ears! But then again, Day No-More isn’t all about cheering. It’s a harsh reminder that the end is frighteningly close. Creeping and creeping towards the crowd like a weird abomination from the swamps of doom; ready to just pounce on each and every one of us. It’ll strip us of our freedom (well, relative freedom) and independence. It’s going to take us away from each other, far enough for some of us to be lost and forgotten. No longer can we just send a message and wait a couple of minutes before we see that special someone we’d so long to see. No longer can we have mass breakfasts, lunches and dinners with our pseudo-family of friends. (who cares if the food sucks?) Day No-More peaks when we are not in the hostel no more. And it is drawing close. So let us put our heads, hands, hearts and souls together to make this final celebration so explosive that even our parents from KL, Kuching and Penang will feel the tremor. I so can’t wait. |
