our not-so-happy ending?
| hey guys...ages since i've posted anything. well, guess i won't have pereira punya pulchritudinous vocab *roll eyes*, byrans eloquence or kim ongs quirky writing style but...haha its straight from the hati!!! we'll be going our own ways. i think that teenagers have never been forced to grow older and tougher in such a short time. i masih ingat masa we all first came, sungguh mentah! it was interesting. it was a competition to establish where we stood in the social hierarchy at the hostel. lots of attention seeking stunts were pulled. some acted all tough and cool, others were bouncy and chatty, some were more withdrawn... in the end, i guess we just found our comfort zones and hung out with who we liked best. a new year a new chapter? maybe. we've learnt loads from each other. back home, when we were fairly, if not extremely, equilibrated, things were easy. we understood the expectations of those around us and even if we didn't, we could always deal with it another day. here, we see each other all the time. learning to compromise and giving in had never been such an issue until we realised the sensitivity or perhaps frailty of our egos. we've shared great times together. movies, meals, shopping time etc. then again, its he normal thing friends do together. what sets our friendship apart from the regular order of relationships is the fact that we've gone through pain and suffering together. we were made to understand the pressure and esteem of our scholarships. we learnt to deal with the stresses of cca's and school life. we have endured this far. even when we embark on journeys that may vastly differ, we'll never forget the times we've had together (err...very ingat Graduation...the Vitamin C variant). we got through promos, block tests, prelims and more...how many tantrums and stormy mood swings have we endured together? we've seen seniors breakdown, juniors come in fresh faced, guard rotations, rule enforcements...my gosh, i'm making us sound so ancient and antiquated. yup, so i guess that's the end...2 years have passed, quite quickly actually... this chapter is coming to and end. the parchments running short, we're cramming in party time and outings into the margins. when we pull out a fresh sheet, may our quills be sufficiently inked, may our longhand form our livelihood in the future and may our shorthand let us realise that we live life only once and we should enjoy it to the max. its been entertaining, revealing, enlightening, frustrating, gratifying and interesting knowing you guys. weighing the pros and cons of our scholarship, the scales would tip in the favour of accepting it. many times, i've wondered if i made the right choice. i won't regret anything and i truly believe that knowing every single one of you has been worth the heart wrenching, gut twisting times (haha not that I’m denying good moments and happy times. so, take care and all the best. p.s- i should write g.w.bush speeches...sound bites. besides the last paragraph or so, every sentence is so short! |
